Part 1
I had an amazing time in Maine with Storm. We did lots of things that were very amazing and things I will never forget. During the next few days I will look at my pictures and talk about all that we did. One thing that I noticed is that Maine is full of places to visit and to eat that scream out the good news, "We are in Maine!!" I love that. Maine is such a wonderful and unique place, and we did many things. I visited all of her family...her kids and grandkids, her brothers, and many of her friends. When we were out usually her mom, Lynn, and her step dad, Gene, were with us, and many times Bruce could work out time to come with us as well.
I want to talk about Lynn and Gene who rounded out our little group. They were always smiling and making me feel loved, and I love them as well. The only down part of having Lynn with us was that she always wanted to eat Chinese food at buffet style restaurants. We did this maybe about 5 times in three weeks, and it started to get old. Storm also was kind of tired of it as well. I do not think the buffets go for quality but rather for quantity. Whenever she asked to go to a Chinese buffet I just agreed, because she loves it. It is not a good choice for me from another point of view, because of my gastric bypass surgery which means that I cannot really eat much. Sometimes I can do okay, but many times I had just leave my plate with food on it. That felt guilty for me...just wastage. However, Storm and I got a few laughs about it.

On a happier note we went to some amazing restaurants. We had Thai food, ate at a restaurant where Storm had worked about 25 years ago called The Lobster Pound. That was to celebrate Lynn's birthday. We ate Poutaine there. This is a dish of French Canadian origin, I think. It is french fries with chunks of cheese in it and gravy on top. Sounds yucky, but I say try it you will like it...lol The restaurant is on the ocean and that side room opens up onto a porch which has a view of the ocean. It was foggy that day but the view was still beautiful. It specializes in fish of all kinds, but they also offer yummy choices to the poor, pathetic people like me who do not like fish.
Here is the birthday girl (Lynn) and Gene at our table. There was so much that was good to choose from on the menu. That was on July 14th and to tell you the truth I cannot even remember what I had to eat...except for the Poutaine.

After lunch we walked across the street to a really nice shop that featured Maine made crafts. I did not buy one, but I wanted to show you my favorite craft there. It was sculpture made of copper wires and very beautiful. Here is my picture. these items are so pretty.
Here are three of the paintings that were for sale in this store. I especially like the painting of the puffinths. They are a really darling little chunky bird. When they fly they look as if their wings are going around in circkes rather than just flapping them like outher birds do. When I was in Maine last summer we went on a cruise out to an island that had been set up during the seventies to be a nesting place for puffins. Now there are several species of water birds who come there to roost...a regular little incubator.
I think the first is a sunrise as in the east the sun rises over the ocean from the east.

The stone piles are a typical sight along the shorelines on the coast of Maine. They are worn smooth and are shine
like river rock.
